I was blessed with a tablet in 2013 from my prior school. I didn't know how to use it then, and barely used it besides taking photos of kids in class. During the pandemic, my current school issued us all with tablets for use at home and in the classroom, and I still didn't utilize it well. My young son was curious about it more than I was. I found it a burden. I was not teaching explicitly digital processes, illustration, in any direct way. This year, I am returning to teaching Graphic Design. Besides my big artist toolbox of using analog tools, and pixels and vectors in various programs, I know that pressure sensitive tablets, digital pens, and new software have made great progress since my last time teaching in this area of art. What do you use, in your personal studio, or in the classroom? What are your "one day" wish list items, or things that have been a must in the classroom? I am hoping my optimism today doesn't mean I am overwhelmed in 2024, but I still need some exposure if it overwhelms me.
